As your elected Representative for District III of the HISD Board of Education, I have and will represent you and your children’s best interest. I will stand strong and not fold at the pressures of special interest, other elected officials, or the wishes of other organizations that would benefit from my vote.

As President of the Board in 2007, against the wishes of many community leaders and elected officials, who all wanted to delay the vote for the 805 Million Dollar Bond Referendum to build new schools for all HISD Students; I with the support of my colleagues on the Board of Education and the Superintendent, continued forward with the Bond Election and WON the referendum. As a result we now have 5 NEW Schools in District III, 21 new schools in HISD, and more than one hundred schools being remodeled, receiving upgrades and much needed repairs.

I say all this to acknowledge that the Board of Education is the elected body, chosen by the people to represent their best interest in the Education of the Students of HISD, for the past eight years, it has been my Honor to hold the Position of Trustee for District III, it is my personal belief that today I have the Knowledge, Experience and Passion to represent Dist. III and that I am the best candidate.
